I was raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I trained in medicine in Oxford, London, Yorkshire and Glasgow before pitching up in Bristol in 2000. As a GP my goal is to help people find the resources they need to get well, to stay well and, if that is not possible, to learn to live well with existing conditions.
I work half time at Wellspring and in the other half of my week I organise the teaching of medical students in the University of Bristol. We are hugely appreciative of the various ways in which our patients participate in this training. My Wellspring week always includes Wednesdays.
When I am not working with patients and students I love working with plants on my sunny allotment. I feel lucky to serve such a diverse and interesting community in the Barton Hill area and to live in a forward-thinking city such as Bristol.
